Applause live on Music Station Japan.
All this criticism Gaga is receiving from J-pop supporters is making me really sad.
Especially since I’m a huge fan of artists such as Kyary, AKB48, and Berryz Koubou. If the fans don’t like how Gaga looked or what she had to wear, that’s completely understandable. However, I don’t understand how people can go as far as to call her disrespectful or racist. The anime inspired makeup was a way to simply express her admiration of NOT ONLY Japan but also their pop culture. I’ve seen a few comments about how she’s making it seem like Anime is the only thing Japan embodies. I have to disagree strongly on this…. x x x If you watch the three videos I have just provided, I would hope you would realized that Gaga is well aware that Japan is so much more than anime or neon colors. I believe she chose to use the Anime inspired makeup for this particular appearance because it relates to the theme of her new album, “Artpop”, which is about incorporating Art into Pop.
At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe about her. But I believe the people who have done their share of accurate research knows that she has never committed a single act of racism in her life.
Lot of changes happening in my life, schedules been crazy, but I’m finally feeling like me again. Nobody holding me back, I can just be myself. Feels good. Paws up.
